CALL FOR APPLICATION 2024 - Short stays scholarship “French + Sciences”

The Embassy of France in Nigeria and Campus France Nigeria are launching, the French + Sciences programme. Addressed to undergraduate students, wishing to learn French, the French + Sciences programme also aims to be a tool to promote French Higher Education and make candidates discover France and sciences through workshops, conferences, but also visits and activities all held in English, with the opportunity to learn French with French classes.

The scholarship includes a round-trip flight ticket, a monthly allowance, accommodation among the offered options, health and repatriation insurance.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Nigerian candidates, under 25 years old.

Degree: candidates currently studying for a Bachelor program in sciences accredited by the National Universities Commission is eligible.

Length of mobility: short stay programs, from 3 weeks to 4 weeks.

Dates of mobility: the dates depend on the programme chosen by the candidate.

 

Programs

  • Accent français – Montpellier : "Focus on Sustainable Development"

Dates of the session: from June 9th to June 28th 2024 (3 weeks)

 

  • Ciel Bretagne – Brest : "Sciences and technologies of the sea"

Dates of the session: From June 17th to July 5th 2024 (3 weeks)

 

  • CLA – Besançon :  "Micro, nano and smart technologies for industrial applications"

Dates of the session: From June 3rd to June 28th 2024 (4 weeks)

 

  • French in Normandy - Rouen : "Focus on Transport and Energy"

Dates of the session: From May 27th to June 14th 2024 (3 weeks)

 

Selection criteria and preparation for the mobility

Applications will be assessed on the motivation and the profile of the candidate according to the programme chosen.

Applicants must send the following documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Cover Letter;
  • Copy of passport;
  • Proof of enrolment to university in 2023-2024.

The cover letter and/or letter of invitation may include a description of what is currently studying at university, past achievements and future projects (academic / professional) in line with the mobility project, relevance to the selected programs. It must also state the motivation for the candidate to learn French.

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

The results will be sent by e-mail together with the description of the procedure to comply for the travel arrangements and visa applications. The Embassy of France in Nigeria and Campus France Nigeria will link the grantee with Campus France Paris who is responsible for the organisation of the practical aspects of the mobility.
